About us

We started in January 2020 with a beta type service and are expanding quickly in order to revolutionise the leasehold conveyancing industry. Our aim is to simplify the conveyancing process by creating a “one-stop-shop” for seller’s solicitors to obtain and buyer’s solicitors to provide the management pack and other information required from the managing agent in the event of a leasehold transfer.

The management pack, management and landlord transfer requirements and certain transfer documents are all available for download for the developments which have signed up to use our service.

We are also hoping to make the process easier for buyer’s solicitors with an area for post transfer requirements.

This not only helps to ensure that all information is tracked but also should make meeting these requirements quicker and easier. Our ambition is for the site to create a new way of working for this sort of transfer.

One which works for everyone, making the process easier and smoother for all involved.

Who we are

Mark Fairweather – Director
Mark first had the idea for leasehold central in 2015 and has over 30 years experience in the legal industry. Amongst other areas, Mark specialises in Leasehold property law.

Alice Russell – Project Manager
Alice has extensive experience with IT software and a fascination with how IT is constructed and works. Alice has a real passion for technology and has brought tremendous enthusiasm to this project. In September 2018 she took on the leasehold central project. Through late nights and weekend work, Mark and Alice, together with the development team (Mechanic Ink) managed to get this system up and running.
Our key aim is to ensure that everything is user friendly and makes the leasehold conveyancing process easier rather than harde

Why?

The leasehold conveyancing process is still very similar to that which was used 200 years ago; it is in desperate need of modernisation!

Technology, whilst some people can find it scary, can make people’s jobs so much easier. In today’s society with so many having to cover work outside of their job description, tools which make life easier are a necessity. By using our site, managing agents can spend less time on producing management packs and more time on managing the buildings and developments which they run.

The seller’s conveyancers and buyer’s conveyancers will also benefit from this system as a proportion of information is available immediately and the landlord and management company’s transfer requirements are clearly set out. The documents to comply with the landlord and management company’s requirements can be uploaded to the system and so the system eliminates the issue of whether or not items have been provided.

The system can also prompt conveyancer’s with any missing requirements in order to ensure that all required information and documents are provided
